Oil export to rise, as Otakikpo field begins production





Nigeria’s crude oil export is set to rise by 8,350 barrels of oil per day (bopd) as Green Energy International Limited, GEIL, disclosed that it is about to commence continuous full production and evacuation from the Otakikpo Marginal field in Oil Mining Lease, OML, 11. Otakikpo is a marginal oil field located in a coastal swamp in Rivers State. The field lies approximately 60 kilometers South East of Port Harcourt, Rivers State of Nigeria. Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Mr. Ibe Kachikwu, had on Wednesday, told members of the National Assembly that Nigeria’s crude oil output had risen to two million barrels per day, from 1.8 million in December.
