A fundraiser for  a vandalized Jewish  cemetery is sending a strong message of unity and tolerance. The  effort organized by Muslim American activists Linda Sarsour and Tarek El-Messidi  was launched this week to fund the repairs of nearly 200 headstones that were damaged and toppled in the Chesed Shel Emeth Society cemetery in the St. Louis suburb of University City in Missouri. The fundraiser exceeded its goal of $20,000 so fast, it has expanded into an effort to support Jewish community centers that have been targets of anti-Semitism. The  vandal or vandals destroyed more  that 170 headstones at the cemetery, according Anita Feigenbaum, the cemetery's executive director. Members of the community have been left rattled. "A lot of people are coming out (to the cemetery) -- they're just interested to see, 'Was their loved one's monument affected by this?' I write to inform you this morning that resumption of academic activities is finally in green light. So, start preparing for school. The 9 months strike is about to be suspended as ASUU set to hold a historical congress on Tuesday. The congress will not only capture the presence of congress men but National officer who also double as Zonal coordinator and member of ASUU LAUTECH. So, expectation is high that there is end in si ght. Though, A purported date for exam is already been announced by the management for the commencement of exams, but the truth about the matter is that, exams wont commence on 20th of February, and i doubt if will start during the week. But the surest bet is that; there may be either a resumption of academic activities or release of examination time-table during the week. HE National Examinations Council  on Tuesday  released the results of the 2016 November/December Senior |School Certificate Examination. The Registrar/Chief Executive of NECO,Prof. Charles Uwakwe, said at the council’s headquarters in Minna that  the release of the results is coming exactly sixty days after the exams were conducted. In the analysis for candidates’ general performance by States, Ogun state has the best result as 5,183 students obtained five credits and above in all subjects representing 91.13% while Zamfara state records the worst result with only 59 candidates obtaining 5 credits and above representing 25.65%. According to Uwakwe “a total of 47,941 candidates registered, out of which 47,118 sat for the examinations, and the number of candidates with five credits including Mathematics and English Language put at 28,530 (60.55%)”.
