IFE IS THE CRADLE OF HUMANITY - Prof Wole Soyinka
According to prof wole Soyinka, the Kabiyesi (the Oni of Ife) is above all while Ife is the cradle of Humanity therefore the Oni should turn deaf ear to his counterpart to show his supremacy.
Oba of Lagos, Oba Rilwan Aremu Akiolu embarrasses the Ooni of Ife,Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi as he refused a handshake from him.
The Ooni of Ife attempted to greet the Oba of Lagos,Oba Akiolu who was seated next to the Igbo king but was ignored by the Lagos monarch who simply waved his hand the Ooni. The embarrassed monarch displayed maturity by not losing his cool,rather,he quietly returned to his seat to have a chat with Igwe Achebe at the public function. This incident, however, caused outrage as many commentators took the social medias to condemn the Oba of Lagos for this unbecoming act. It is yet a mystery as to the cause of this act by the Oba of Lagos as the monarchs were presumably in good terms. Last year, both monarchs attended the birthday celebration of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu in Abuja in the company of each other.
